Dialectical Beahvior Therapy or DBT is a form of therapy that melds traditional cognitive therapy with mindfulness and skill building. DBT is effective in treating a multitude of issues including emotional dysregulation, addiction, self-harm, relationship issues, and eating disorders.
DBT therapy is broken up into 4 modules designed to build upon one another. These modules are Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Interpersonal Effectiveness, and Distress Tolerance. Many psychological issues and life’s struggles are a result of skills deficits in one or more of these areas.
